The J.D. Brown Center Mission

As part of the York College Mission and Community Relations Goals, the mission of the J.D. Brown Center for Entrepreneurship is to provide tangible value to all individuals and companies involved with or interested in transforming ideas into economic reality.

A key part of The Center's mission is to coordinate with the regional network of entrepreneurial support organizations. In this web site you will find descriptions and links to training and consulting groups, Pennsylvania and Federal agencies and programs, research locations, reference materials and financing avenues. After an initial consultation, The Center acts as a starting point to place the entrepreneur into the appropriate programs, and /or provide direct assistance. However this is only the starting point. Our Center follows-up with the entrepreneurs to verify that their needs are being met and assist with continuing their course to success.

Entrepreneurs are born, and they are developed. As with any complex process, commercializing ideas is daunting. The Center is addressing this complexity with tools ranging from business plan and financing assistance to targeted training and roundtable venues.

A community is stronger and more dynamic when economic opportunity is being created. At the J.D. Brown Center, our mission is to fuel the entrepreneurial engine of central Pennsylvania and northern Maryland.
